The Directorate exists to support innovation and entrepreneurship in Kenyatta University through implementation of programs, initiatives and activities that have strong links with industry. The Directorate is structured in three sections dedicated to: Incubation services, Technology Transfer Services and Industry Linkages.
Incubation services are provided at the Chandaria Business Innovation and Incubation Centre, and are provided at 70% capacity dedicated to Kenyatta University staff and students, and 30% capacity is reserved for non KU members. The Directorate has a key mandate of supporting researchers in the universality to identify and protect their intellectual property, and go further to generate value through IP commercialization.
